A finished task marked only Done leaves the person who checks it hunting for the right version and for what was already tried. I made Jira CLI so a coding agent can leave that starting point in the ticket.
Working with agents
A wiki search can return an old planning note next to the guide the team follows now, and the code can end up following the wrong one. This is how I have a coding agent pick the right document and read its current version before it changes anything.
Documentation
When an AI coding agent asks you to pick between two layouts, answering is easier with both in view. Relay keeps your choice and the note that qualifies it together.
Working with agents
Several screens can look right at first glance. Choosing one, then looking closer, gives a design handoff a much clearer starting point.
Design handoffs
An AI coding assistant working through a tool has only the tool's reply to tell whether a change was saved or only previewed, and what it should do next. These are the decisions I made in four of my own tools so that reply answers those questions.
Working with agents
In January 2026 my AI coding assistant was handed instructions for every connected tool when most tasks needed one or two, so I made a go-between that let it look up only the tool it needed. I measured it on one setup and stopped maintaining it once the apps running the assistant added their own tool search.

One design can hold several versions of the same page. I made Figma Lens so an AI coding assistant can choose the right screen, read its details and compare the finished page with it in a browser.
Design handoffs
I made Jira CLI so an AI coding assistant, or I, can read a task in the team's Jira tracker from the terminal and leave a useful update on it, with changes shown as a preview by default.
Working with agents
Adding one step to a team checklist means finding the right page, reading what is already there and changing only that spot. I made Outline CLI so a coding agent can do the same in a team wiki.
Documentation
An AI coding assistant can sketch a diagram in your terminal, but pointing out the one part you want changed can take a paragraph of its own. I made Relay so you can see the work in your browser and comment right on the part you mean.
Working with agents
When a form, a preview and a Save button work on the same job post, they need to agree on one draft. I built createContextState to give that draft a clear home in React.

PRIMUS, a recruitment platform, had its interface split across several separate apps. Bringing them into one took about 18 months while new features kept shipping, and the hard part was keeping the old and new versions working side by side.
